Rory is a beautiful gelding with real presence. A true head-turner, he has the looks to shine in the show ring in-hand, or simply be enjoyed as a classy, happy hacker.
Originally purchased for eventing and show jumping, Rory is sadly no longer suitable for that job (which will be discussed in full with any serious enquiries).
I've owned Rory for 4 years, in that time he has proven to be a rewarding and affectionate horse with the right approach. He thrives on a calm, consistent routine and a one-to-one relationship where trust can be
built — once he knows you, he's a loyal and willing partner. He’s good to handle both in and out of the stable, with lovely ground manners.
Rory is best suited to an experienced, confident home, ideally someone with knowledge of ex-racehorses or sensitive types. He's a naturally nervous horse, so he needs a quiet, understanding rider who won’t rush the process. That said, he's never nasty — just needs reassurance and time.
Lives in or out, currently with one other horse the he gets on well with (at the moment he is out by day, stabled at night). He can be tricky to load but improves with regular practice and routine, good with farrier, etc. Not suitable for novices, busy yards or competition homes.
Only available to the best of homes – this is a very special boy and a hard decision. Rory deserves a home that understands and appreciates him for who he is.
Permanent loan home only with a contract.
